How to Create and Manage Labels

Create Labels to organize and target your devices

Labels help you classify devices using Values such as locations, departments, or screen types. Once created, Labels can be used throughout Engage CMS to simplify device management.

Open Labels

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Labels.

The Label Management page displays all existing Labels.

For each Label, you can view:

  • Name
  • Description
  • Number of Values

Use the search field to quickly find a Label by name.

View Label Details

Click a Label to open its details in the side panel.

The split view displays:

  • Label name
  • Description
  • All Values
  • Number of devices assigned to each Value

From here, you can edit the Label or manage its Values.

Create a Label

  1. Select Create Label.
  2. Enter a Label name.
  3. Add an optional description.
  4. Add one or more Values.
  5. Optionally assign devices to each Value.
  6. Save the Label.

The new Label becomes available immediately.

Manage Values

Each Label contains one or more Values.

You can:

  • Add new Values
  • Rename existing Values
  • Remove Values
  • View how many devices use each Value
  • Open device assignment for a Value

Values can be updated whenever your organization changes.

Assign Devices to Values

Each Value can contain one or more devices.

Open a Value and assign the appropriate devices.

Existing assignments are displayed, making it easy to see which devices already belong to each Value.

Edit a Label

Open the Label details and select Edit.

You can update:

  • Label name
  • Description
  • Values
  • Device assignments

Save your changes to apply them immediately.

Delete a Label

To remove a Label:

  1. Open the three-dot menu.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Review the confirmation.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting a Label permanently removes the Label and its Values.

Be sure the Label is no longer needed before deleting it.

Tips

  • Keep Label names broad and reusable.
  • Use Values for the specific information.
  • Assign devices during creation to save time.
  • Review unused Values periodically to keep Labels organized.

Devices can be assigned directly to a Value during the creation process.
